Position overview

As a Sales Director, you are expected to build up business relationships in the market as well as to retain and grow a team of sales representatives to achieve monthly quota. You need to demonstrate your sales strategy, leadership and managerial values in identifying, prospecting, closing and growing new account business across the market.
This person will be native of the location, be fluent in English and knowledge of Mandarin will be a plus.  The candidate needs to have a solid grasp of successful channel strategies within the market and an understanding of CDN industry specific requirements therein.
This person will be managing the sales process and more accurately forecasting monthly and quarterly business. A proven track record of solution selling to effectively develop and close business is a must.

Responsibilities

* Develop and execute the annual and quarterly go-to-market plan of the market to achieve sales target.
* Develop executive level relationships within existing customers, target vertical opportunities and sales partners.
* Well manage regional sales funnel to achieve the revenue and key tasks set in the country Business Plan.
* Execute a successful partner and alliance strategy and ensure it is effectively structured.
* Retain and grow in country sales team

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree or above
* Overall Experience: 10+ years or equivalent experience
* 10+ years of experience in the IT industry on solution-selling, including CDN, hosting, network solutions, etc.
* 5+ years of sales management experience, building and developing teams, proven track record of growing a business and demonstrated sales and general managerial values

* Able to retain, hire, train and lead a team of sales representatives to over-achieve their quotas
* Possess strong knowledge of Internet and telecommunications concepts, demonstrates the ability to discuss them with intelligence and conviction

Solution Architect

The successful candidate will bring a deep industry understanding, as well as a sophistication for the sales cycle in order to close competitive prospects and solve technical issues for existing customers. Fluent in English and Mandarin. This position will be based in Hong Kong.  

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise to new and existing customers in order to assist regional sales team in reaching sales revenue goals
• Responsible for technical pre-sales design recommendations and justifications
• Manage the technical aspects of sales prospecting and provisioning
• Communicate technical design requirements and implementation details to sales team and customers, both in formal documentation and verbally
• Communicate account and project status with internal teams, including sales, customer support and sales engineering management
• Design, document, and implement Content Delivery (CDN)/Stream caching solutions, incorporating network design method, capacity planning, HTTP, Streaming (RTSP, Flash, HTTP Streaming), SSL, DNS, HTML, Access Control, and W3C compatible WWW technologies

Qualifications:

For the data center industry of high energy consumption, what can we do to protect our environment and ecology?

In recent years, data center construction has shown a large-scale development trend, while the power consumption in a large data center is quite striking. For example, for a data center with the construction scale of 2,000 racks, based on the calculation of average power per rack of 3kW, the 2,000 racks will consume 6000-degree electricity, with yearly electricity consumption of 52,560,000 kWh, in addition to other energy consumptions from air conditioning, fresh air, electricity, and lighting in the data center. Huge energy consumption has brought great pressure on the data center in terms of operating cost and environmental protection. Therefore, data center construction is focusing more and more to energy saving, with Green, Environmental Protection, Energy Saving, and High Efficiency as the concept and direction for the construction of next generation of data centers.

How to measure the energy consumption of a data center?

PUE, short for Power Usage Effectiveness, is the indicator for data center energy efficiency evaluation, and the ratio of all the energy consumed in the data center and the energy consumed by IT loads. PUE is a ratio, with 2 as its benchmark. The closer the ratio is towards 1, the better energy efficiency level is. The PUE value has become internationally acknowledged measurement index for data center power usage effectiveness. At present, the advanced data center computer room PUE value in foreign countries is usually less than 2. According to MIIT statistics, at present, China's average data center PUE value is between 2.2 and 3.0. While ChinaCache’s Shouming Cloud Data Center in Shunyi Tianzhu Free Trade Zone is super large, with an area of 80,000 square meters, containing about 7,500 racks, its PUE design value from 1.44 to 1.50, with average PUE value of 1.46, fully in compliance with international leading Green Data Center Energy Efficiency Standard.

The energy consumption in a typical data center includes:

The first part is IT equipment, accounting for about 50% of the total energy consumption of the data center, including servers, storage equipment and network communication equipment, etc.;

The second part is air conditioning system, accounting for about 37% of the total energy consumption of the data center, with air conditioning cooling system accounting for about 25% of the total power consumption, and air conditioning air supply and return system accounting for about 12% of the total power consumption;

The third part is UPS power supply and distribution system, covering about 10% of the total energy consumption of the data center;

The last part is auxiliary lighting system.

The Green Data Center refers to maximum energy efficiency and minimum environmental impact that IT, cooling, lighting and electrical systems in the data center can achieve. The green concept is shown in the overall planning and computer room air conditioning, UPS, servers and other IT equipment, and management software application, with energy saving and environmental protection, high reliability and availability, and rationality. Since PUE = total data center equipment energy consumption/IT equipment energy consumption, a lowered PUE value can be obtained by adopting energy-saving measures to reduce equipment power consumption in the data center. Green and energy saving concept has been deeply considered at the beginning of design and construction of ChinaCache’s Shouming Cloud Data Center, and in strict accordance with the national data center construction standards and regulations.

For IT equipment energy consumption, hardware vendors at present have been constantly improving chip manufacturing technologies to reduce energy consumption.  At the start of 2015, ChinaCache has started its cooperation with Beijing Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (BFSMC), to build a customized cloud data center for it in ChinaCache’s Shouming International Data Center. This cooperation includes a customized BFSMC data center in Shouming International Data Center, BFSMC’s Beijing data center resource to be operated by ChinaCache, and a large-scale high-grade data center in Guiyang to be invested and built jointly by both companies. This cooperation will bring ChinaCache revenue as high as RMB 960 million, undoubtedly creating a record of the largest cloud data center deal in the industry.

As early as last year, it was announced by ChinaCache to have signed a framework agreement with People's Daily Online, using ChinaCache’s Shouming International Cloud Data Center to meet cloud computing and cloud storage needs of the growing user groups. Building a cloud computing and cloud storage infrastructure platform in Shouming International Cloud Data Center will reduce long-term operating costs for user services, and create favorable conditions for the company to provide customers with digital and full media service. This cooperation also became a super-big business deal as high as RMB 650 million.

In conclusion, in the year ahead, the cloud data center cooperation alone will bring ChinaCache a billion RMB revenue, while the CDN business growth in the future is also no less significant for ChinaCache.

 With the rapid development of 4G and mobile Internet, there has been a surge of demand in the CDN market. Beijing Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Cooperates with ChinaCache for Data Center Field

On Jan 16, Beijing Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (BJ Co-ops) and ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. ("ChinaCache") hold a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in the conference center of Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone. It was decided by both companies to develop their strategic cooperation in data center filed, start from Beijing and Guiyang.

In 2010, ChinaCache started planning to build Shouming International Data Center in Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone, which was officially started for construction in 2014 and expected to be completed in July 2015 with a total construction area of 80,000 square meters.
