On June 28, 2015, the 14th China Internet Conference EC Session and the 1st Cross-border Trade EC Fair was held in Ningbo International Convention Center, a special event under the cooperation of China Internet Society and local government for the first time. Ningbo is a gathering location in the development of China's e-commerce industry, showing obvious first-mover advantage in the e-commerce industry, covering several large cross-border e-commerce companies. A number of state department officials, well-known experts and scholars, and national e-commerce industry leading entrepreneurs were invited to attend this conference.

2015 (14th) China Internet Conference EC Session and the 1st Cross-border Trade EC Fair

ChinaCache was invited as the exclusive non-Internet enterprise during the whole conference. The conference organizer mentioned that the CDN network acceleration service provided by ChinaCache was a very important link in the Internet development, playing a vital role in the development of Internet, e-commerce, and cross-border e-commerce.

ChinaCache said that under the policy guidance of "One Belt and One Road", more and more economic entities began to fuse. Especially with the new thinking of "Internet+", enterprises have gradually broken international economy boundaries, undoubtedly resulting in cross-border e-commerce opportunities. Overseas goods have gradually got the attention from domestic consumer groups, leading to more and more e-commerce channels such as "overseas purchasing agents and overseas online shopping". "Cross-border" business has soon become the new favorite in the e-commerce field. Many domestic and foreign well-known e-commerce enterprises have got involved in this cross-border business. Yet, the large cross-border market and policy supports have also given space for many medium and small enterprises. There are industry benchmark websites for different channels such as “purchasing agents, flash sales and direct delivery”.

However, from relevant cross-border e-commerce data, ChinaCache found that "opportunities were accompanied by challenges”. According to the data in CNNIC 2014 report, in 2014, Chinese online population reached 649-million person-time. In the same period, the number of users willing to choose online purchase soared to 340 million person-time, with user penetration as high as 52.5%, based on the iResearch data. But, within the cross-border e-commerce, B2C transactions only accounted for 7.6% of cross-border e-commerce business, an exciting but also confusing figure to the cross-border e-commerce. ChinaCache Business Unit leader said that the cross-border e-commerce B2C scale was not at the same level as the B2B scale. Therefore, there is no need for those e-commerce enterprises at their testing level to be confused. But the more shares the market covers, the bigger challenge the enterprises are facing.

It’s shown from ChinaCache’s several years of e-commerce service experience that, in addition to price and distribution, user requirement and experience are increasingly important in the future competition. ChinaCache has been offering service to several e-commerce leading enterprises, all of which have currently put user “experience control" to top priority in their entire operation, conducting real-time monitor on goods browsing speed and ordering speed. These e-commerce enterprises believe that poor user experience may cause losing a large number of users. Such loss has far higher impacts than other ways.

In addition to providing e-commerce enterprises with CDN acceleration, ChinaCache also offers them big data analysis support and provides them with complete solutions through data analysis. From ChinaCache’s analysis, it can be seen that there are many aspects which can influence user experience. The first aspect is longer waiting time: web page opening speed can directly influence the users for purchase. Pages with lots of contents and images lead to challenges in rapidly opening the pages. The second aspect is user data’s security. Since websites involve a large number of user information and financial transactions, security is very essential. The third aspect is traffic burst. A variety of activities and sales promotions will cause a great number of user clicks, which is hard to deal with. The fourth is complex network environment. Mobile users often switch their network in different network environments, so undifferentiated experience can bring better experience to customers. The fifth aspect is the increasing bandwidth pressure. The growth of goods categories and the need of displaying mass pictures require higher bandwidth and servers to satisfy users. The sixth aspect is undifferentiated experience for regional users. The broad regional distribution of users leads to more allocation of CDN nodes, enabling users in each region to enjoy fast service. Several different ways are likely to lead to poor customer experience. ChinaCache, in its several years of service and exploration, has always been seeking the optimum service method for e-commerce, assisting the e-commerce to develop rapidly through the CDN service.

ChinaCache provides many e-commerce enterprises with a complete portfolio of e-commerce industry acceleration solutions, including static page acceleration service and mobile Internet-aware Mplus service, improving the opening speed of official homepages, promotion pages and activity pages at e-commerce PC terminals and mobile terminals by more than 30%. In terms of DDOS attacks, ChinaCache can offer e-commerce with data redundancy backup mechanism through security design and cloud storage service, to ensure the high availability of e-commerce customer data. Besides, hotspot prediction and grading back to source are the two guarantees for e-commerce enterprises offered by ChinaCache, greatly improving page response speed, more rapidly opening pages with large contents to cope with the traffic burst and a large number of user clicks due to e-commerce activities and promotions. With the increasing bandwidth pressure of e-commerce enterprises, the growth of goods categories and the need to display a large number of pictures, ChinaCache provides server hosting service, saving the operating costs of the e-commerce enterprises. The resources with dynamic allocation can enable more complicated business to go online rapidly, achieving fast deployment of e-commerce business.

During this conference, ChinaCache also offered offline communication platform for more cross-border e-commerce enterprises in its exhibition booth, providing them with solutions and supports.
